Our programs are supported with profits generated through the sale of donated goods in our Retail Stores.
- As a Network Administrator Assistant at Alabama Goodwill Industries (AGI), you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission by ensuring the effective deployment and maintenance of information systems. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management and deployment of all user-facing information technology. This includes providing essential data, communications, and application support to AGI, ensuring accurate and timely data-driven decision-making.
Essential Functions:
- Implement and support hardware systems, including managed networks/firewalls, VoIP phone systems, CCTV camera systems, and alarm systems.
- Identify, research, and resolve technical problems, documenting and tracking issues for timely resolution.
- Deploy and support desktop operating systems, business software & applications, and mobile devices.
- Identify and resolve network and security issues, safeguarding AGI from cyber threats while securing sensitive organizational data.
- Support the IS Manager in implementing a point-of-sale system and assist operational leaders in developing POS system data reports.
- Assist in accounting for and maintaining AGI-owned hardware, software, and other information assets.
- Ensure compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards to protect customer and donor personal information.
- Conduct work order follow-up to ensure effective and satisfactory service delivery.
- Provide updates on system status and service issues, coordinating downtimes with affected team members when necessary.
- Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of AGI's information technology platform.
- Attend in-service and related training as assigned by the team leader.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information, including payroll and financial matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the team leader.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in backroom and front-room information systems architecture and local and wide-area networking.
- Ability to conceptualize systems and deploy software products.
- Experience with Desktop O/S (Windows 7, 10, and 11) and Microsoft Office 365.
- Hardware support proficiency, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Basic server and network, router, and firewall support.
- Technical troubleshooting skills during major outages.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to work independently and lift/move computer equipment.
- Proficient in English (verbal and written communication).
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Training and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent technical certifications and experience).
- 1-2 years of practical network computer experience supporting 25+ users.
- Experience with Point-of-Sale systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI or other big data management systems is a plus.
Special Requirements:
- Availability for occasional after-hours and occasional weekend work.
- Valid driver's license, appropriate insurance coverage, and reliable transportation for travel within AGI territory.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
