Series Planning - Vance, AL

SWJ Technologie specializes in providing engineering, planning, and project management services across various industries. We are currently seeking a Series Planning for a client in the automotive industry, specializing in Vehicle Manufacturing. This is a Contractor role based in Vance, AL that requires onsite presence. PURPOSE:
Under general supervision, this is a Project Management position, which supports the projects in Assembly by leading and executing work packages. This role will coordinate all activities in A1 and A2 to successfully perform work packages and projects to support Operations. The expectation is to lead a cross functional group to ensure complete and thorough planning including detailed tracking of all open meausres with solid follow up. All activities will be tracked in detail to ensure all planning KPI can be achieved. This role will report to the Series Planning E4's.
The following work packages and topics are examples of projects that could be assigned:
Continuous Improvement, Error Proofing, Mutilation Protection, DWA, Shopping Cart Removal, Ergonomics
Additional work packages and projects related to assembly may be identified after the start date.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Objectives:
1.Synchronizing, optimizing and validating the planning results of different department s , safeguarding achievement of KPI Targets
2.Work Package Leader

• Lead and execute cross-functional teams to accomplish work package goals
• Timeline Preparation
• Implementation
• Follow-up

3.Running project workshops

• Initiate and lead workshops to accompish work package goals
• Creating and tracking KPI's that relate to the project

4.Documentation and transparency

• SFM digital
• Teams task planner
• Creation of dashboards if necessary

Tasks:

• Organization of team needed for work packages/projects
• Tracking of timeline, open actions, and KPI's for projects
• Training to learn clients practices such as MPS, Proplan, Dialog, MTM etc
• Report out and present work package progress to higher management levels.
• Sustain results of projects so they can be permanently executed
• Line balancing to include utilization, part presentation, ergonomics, and logistics

Interfaces:
Series Planners, Operations Managers, Process Engineers, Pilot Team, Equipment Planning, Industrial Engineering, target plant, MTM/Ergo expert
Success Criteria:

• Accomplishment of project and work package KPI's within given timelines and within cost constraints
• Sustainability of results out of projects and work packages
• Clear handover of any projects left incomplete at end of scope length

• Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws.
• Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to supervisor or Human Resources.
• Work safely 100% of the time.

• Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain/Operation or Engineering Or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant professional experience in Project planning and execution setting/role with at least two years in the automotive industry.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong process planning skills.
• Interdisciplinary team orientation, flexibility w/persuasive power.
• Conflict resolution ability, with excellent communication skills.
• Strong organization skills.
• Presentation creation/delivery and meeting facilitation skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office software with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of project management and Lean management
• Power Point

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Spoken and written German language skills is a plus
• Advanced presentation design skills, with Think-Cell plugin experience
• Certificates for agile project management (e.g., Scrum Master) Knowledge of production and process planning
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing and production systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.

FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE :

• Location: Vance, AL
• Schedule: Day shift, 40/h
• Duration: 9 months, likely to extend.
• Assignment Start: ASAP, Long-term Contractor position.
