Per Diem School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Wetumpka, AL Area
This per diem position supports students in a school environment, promoting academic, behavioral, and social development through personalized assistance. Working under teacher guidance, you will provide 1:1 or small group support that encourages student growth in a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and small group academic, behavioral, and social support aligned with instructional plans
- Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and active participation in the classroom
- Implement behavior support plans and ensure compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support student mobility, supervision, and personal care needs as necessary
- Help maintain a respectful and inclusive learning environment conducive to student success
Qualifications:
- Active licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Alabama
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Compliance with TB testing requirements as per district regulations
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when needed
- Current clearances or willingness to obtain prior to employment
Preferred Experience:
- Background in school settings, special education, behavioral health, or child care
- Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Certification or experience in CPI, PMT, or RBT is a plus
- Reliable, patient, and collaborative work style
