Summary
We are seeking a Commissioning Technician I (Tech I) to support mechanical installation and commissioning activities at a large‑scale data center site in Montgomery, Alabama . This is an entry‑level to junior technician role , ideal for candidates looking to build hands‑on experience in industrial and mechanical systems within a construction and commissioning environment.
The Tech I works under the guidance of technicians and a Foreman, assisting with equipment setup, inspections, and basic mechanical tasks while learning commissioning procedures, documentation standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with installation, set‑in‑place, and inspection of mechanical equipment and systems
- Support commissioning activities for cooling and mechanical systems under supervision
- Perform basic mechanical tasks such as:
- Material handling and equipment staging
- Tool setup and teardown
- Assisting with component connections and verification
- Follow written procedures, safety requirements, and site protocols at all times
- Participate in site walkdowns, punch list activities, and closeout support
- Communicate effectively with technicians and Foreman regarding task status and issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in an active construction environment
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or trade school coursework preferred
- Entry‑level experience or exposure to:
- Mechanical or industrial systems
- Construction or industrial job sites
- Ability to use basic hand tools and follow technical instructions
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to take direction
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
Work Environment & Requirements
- Onsite role at a data center / industrial construction site in Montgomery, AL
- PPE required (hard hat, safety glasses, work boots, etc.)
- Must be reliable and able to work scheduled shifts based on project needs

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Montgomery, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
