Job Description

As a Security Officer - Access Control in Theodore, AL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials and badges, and greet team members and visitors with professional customer service. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with site leaders and Allied Universal teams. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to site personnel, drivers, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and instructions for the location.
• Control access at employee and vehicle entry points by checking identification, confirming authorization, issuing temporary badges and/or passes, and maintaining visitor, vendor, and driver logs.
• Support inbound and outbound traffic flow at gates and dock approaches by verifying appointments, directing vehicles to designated staging areas, and communicating with site contacts as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and assisting with emergency response activities per post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, yard, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations, and report hazards or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 2+ years of security-related experience.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
