Contract RN - Med-Surg/Telemetry - Night Shift- AL

Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN ) The Med-Surg/Telemetry RN is a skilled and compassionate nursing professional responsible for delivering comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac monitoring needs. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The RN collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adult patients with diverse medical, surgical, and telemetry needs + Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical exams, health histories, and cardiac rhythm interpretation + Monitor telemetry and respond to cardiac rhythm changes, alarms, and arrhythmias + Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed + Monitor and document patient responses to interventions and changes in condition + Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust individualized care plans + Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, procedures, and surgeries + Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including wound care, pain management, and mobility support + Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, discharge instructions, and self-care + Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) + Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards + Respond promptly to emergencies such as rapid deterioration, arrhythmias, falls, or code situations + Support patient advocacy and uphold patient rights and confidentiality Minimum Requirements + Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice + Minimum one year of professional nursing experience; Med-Surg/Telemetry experience preferred + Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (if applicable) + Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred) + Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring + TB screening and health clearance (as required by contract or regulation) + Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations + Successful completion of new hire orientation and Med-Surg/Tele training + Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations + Strong communication skills and proficiency in English + Basic computer literacy + Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we recognize that our nurses are the heart of our mission.
