QTEC Aerospace is seeking SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEERS to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicants will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidates will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as integral members of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The selected engineers will support one of the program cross-functional teams, focusing on development and expansion of the suite of automated tests executed within the software development CI/CD pipelines during software development and upgrades.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Participate in the development and expansion automated tests executed within the software development CI/CD pipelines during development and upgrades
• Actively participate in agile planning and execution of activities
• Some mentoring of less experienced team members

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in information systems, computer science, engineering, or a closely related field with 5 years of related experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Able to develop automated test plug-ins for incorporation into the software development pipelines for a mature software-intensive system that is in the process of being upgraded to add new capabilities
• Skills should also include the use of DoD test methodologies, functional capability related to automated test development and execution, as well as the ability to analyze results from automated tests and recommend updates to the software under test
• Ability to develop plug-ins for testing Java, C++, or Fortran software and incorporate them into CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
• Self-motivated and customer-oriented

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Security+ certification
• Experience in software development within an Agile framework
• Experience in one of the following areas:
  • Implementation of mathematically intensive algorithms, messaging and external interfaces, user interface development, simulation of MDS systems, planning tool development
• Prior experience developing automated tests for software-intensive systems operating in classified environments
• Experience providing leadership and/or mentorship to less experienced team members with automated, tested development activities

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
