The position will entail automation to streamline and improve Windows Operation tasks and procedures. Emphasis will be on development of tools and scripting to further major projects like OSV migrations and in-line upgrades as well as improve day to day tasks and work streams.

_Automate the creation and testing of Windows Server templates for virtual machines and physical hardware using a CI/CD pipeline_
_Automate the installation and configuration of Windows Server Operating System infrastructure using a multitude of tools such as Terraform, vRA/vRO, Habitat, Chef, Ruby, PowerShell_
_Automate manual processes associated with infrastructure deployment via pipelines and infrastructure-as-code_
_Provide L3 Engineering support to Operations teams for all aspects of the Windows Server Operating System_
_Provide cross-team support for deploying Windows Server infrastructure to multiple target environments_
_Provide technical direction for the Windows Server Operating System platform_
1. _Review and evaluate monthly Windows Security updates for Microsoft Server Operating system and determine a criticality level for each update based on mitigating and environmental factors. Engineer deployment process for High and Critically rated security updates_

What is a day in the life like?
1. _20% troubleshooting - Level 3 support._ _Performance, functional, debugging troubleshooting. Working with customers, understanding issues, research, coordination with Microsoft and other vendors._
2. _30% group work: Pairing, and team activities including meetings and standups, discussion of priorities, brainstorming._
3. _50% individual work: pulling stories from backlog, research, POC, trying out solutions and delivering automation code._
+ _High school diploma required_
+ _5+ Years of demonstrated ability with Microsoft Windows Server OS and related technologies_
+ _5+ Years of experience with Windows Server Operating system for virtual machines and physical hardware_
+ _Deep technical knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems (2012R2/2016/2019):_
+ _Deep technical knowledge of Windows PowerShell_
+ _Technical knowledge of Windows Internet Information Services (IIS)_
+ _Technical knowledge of Windows Clustering_
+ _Experience with VMWare and HPE server technologies_
+ _Experience with scripting and programming languages with a focus on PowerShell (PowerShell, Batch, Ruby, Groovy, etc)_
+ _Operations experience supporting Windows Servers for a large enterprise:_
+ _Operations experience supporting IIS and Windows Clustering for a large enterprise_
+ _Experience engineering the deployment of Window Server Operating System for a large enterprise_
+ _Experience with the following software a plus: Chef, Habitat, Terraform, Jenkins, Ruby, GitHub_
+ _Experience supporting AV/Anti-Malware products for Windows Server Operating System_
+ _Experience working in a DevOps environment_
+ _Code first mentality_
+ _Fundamental understanding of modern platform technologies and industry standard methodologies_
+ _Technical certifications e.g. MCSA, MCSE, MCP, etc._
+ _Agile/Lean methodologies experience_
+ _Provides guidance in the design, integration and maintenance of the technical infrastructure and services (all aspects of the technology lifecycle) for the Windows Server Operating System_
+ _Plans the testing of new versions of existing technical infrastructure and services through an integrated pipeline approach_
