Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ communication needs across multiple schools near Alabaster, AL. This role is perfect for dedicated Speech-Language Pathologists who hold a valid AL SLP Certificate and an SLP Educator certification, and are passionate about fostering growth in a dynamic school setting. With a manageable caseload of approximately 60 students per position, you will provide essential services that make a difference every day.
Three positions are available, each fully onsite and focused within a supportive, collaborative environment:
- Pinson Valley High School (full-time)
- McAdory Elementary/McCalla Elementary (split 2/3 days weekly)
- Hueytown Middle School/Lipscomb Elementary (split 3/2 days weekly)
Key qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) or Clinical Fellowship (CF) status
- Active Alabama SLP License and valid SLP Educator certification
- Experience or strong interest in school-based practice
- Fingerprinting clearance per Alabama's requirements
- Ability to work on-site across designated schools
Primary responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and deliver direct speech & language therapy to students with diverse needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Consult with teachers, families, and staff to support student progress in academic settings
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to district, state, and federal guidelines
- Travel independently between assigned schools when required
