Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Valid Alabama Professional Certificate
- Compliance with Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements
- Experience in special education is highly valued
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Adaptability and commitment to student-centered teaching
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique needs
- Deliver engaging instruction in small group, resource, or self-contained classroom settings
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to ensure student success
- Assess student progress and adjust strategies as needed to support continuous growth
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
