Full Time Hospitalist Job AL
A hospital-employed Hospitalist group seeks additional Internal Medicine residency-trained physicians to join a robust, rapidly growing practice as a Hospitalist in Dothan, Alabama.
This is a 400+ bed regional referral in Dothan, Alabama. It manages its own hospitalist program. The current practice includes more than 25 full-time board-certified Internal Medicine Hospitalist physicians. Daily, 12 physicians work the 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. shift and 2 physicians will each have an IM resident provide care during the 7 PM - 7 AM. shift. The average daily census is 15?20 patients per provider on the day shift and 9?10 patients per provider on the night shift.
HOSPITALIST PRACTICE HIGHLIGHTS
- Provide coverage for unassigned patients who present to ED requiring inpatient care, care for transfers, and in-hospital consults
- Admit and co-manage with intensivist support adult patients in critical care?no procedures required
- 24/7 Pulmonary/Critical Care support for all CC admissions
- Manage patients in the clinical decision unit
- 24-hour subspecialty support is available for all specialties including the presence of a house radiology physician 24/7
- 12-hour work shifts, no call required
- The average schedule is 16 shifts per month
- Flexible, individualized scheduling
- Provide limited coverage for select private practice primary care patients
- Utilize in-house electronic medical records, PACS, and physician portal
- Participate in quality initiatives with an emphasis on evidence-based medicine
