Quick job details: This position is for a physician to join our Internal Medicine Residency Program as a Core Faculty member. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to medical education, clinical excellence, and scholarly activities. This role involves teaching, mentoring, and supervising residents, as well as providing high-quality patient care.

• Setting: Inpatient setting and academic responsibilities (resident and student teaching, supervision, and evaluation).
• Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Hours: Full-time position (FTE 1.0) 12 hour shifts.
• Patient Volume: Varies depending on inpatient census with residents assisting in management.
• Job Requirements: Active Alabama medical license (or eligibility to obtain). MD or DO degree (ECFMG certification required if international graduate). Completion of ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency . Board certification in Internal Medicine (ABMS) required. Must demonstrate commitment to education, professionalism, and patient safety . Must participate in committees (Clinical Competency, Program Evaluation, etc.) and complete faculty development annually . Strong teaching, mentoring, and documentation skills.
