Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Fredericksburg, VA 22401 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Level II Trauma Center, 38-bed mixed ICU (SICU/MICU/CVICU)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 9, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:00), 3 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required within scope, including stepdown units
• First-time Travel Nurses: Accepted
• Scrub Color: Navy blue
• Charting System: Epic
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1820-$1870

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (Virginia RN jobs)
• Minimum 2 years of recent SICU or critical care nursing experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (TNCC and CSC preferred)
• Experience with Level II Trauma Center patients required
• Community hospital experience required
• Proficient in managing dysrhythmias, arterial lines, and ventilators
• Completion of up to 8 hours of onboarding modules prior to start
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

SICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill surgical, trauma, and cardiovascular patients
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, arterial lines, and blood product administration
• Care for patients with acute ventilator needs, sepsis, DKA, GI bleeds, trauma, open heart recovery, and multi-system organ failure
• Operate advanced medical equipment including Swan catheters, CRRT (Prismaflex), ventilators, and balloon pumps
• Assist with bedside procedures such as chest tube insertions, central line placements, and bronchoscopies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Float to stepdown units as needed, maintaining safe patient ratios
• Uphold infection prevention and isolation protocols
