Overview

Production Associates are responsible for creating quality products for our customers. They are central to our operations and our success.

Responsibilities

1. Operate machinery required for particular position in a safe and efficient manner, to include training of new and existing operators in the carrying out of their duties.
2. Inspect product for defects and take appropriate action as per work instructions, monitor Quality Technician for consistency
3. Carry out measurements and weight checks
4. Assemble product as per instructions with a focus on quality and safety.
5. Practice Masonite Lean Manufacturing Techniques including 5S+1
6. Communicate efficiently with other employees and the leadership team in order to ensure quality product is made timely
7. Read and interpret list counts and complete all departmental paperwork correctly and timely
8. Perform weekly EHS audits
9. Participate in Safety Kaizens and Haleyville Masonite Plant Kaizens
10. Help create/implement poke yokes for quality issues
11. Read, understand and follow production schedules
12. Set up and adjust equipment
13. Gather materials as needed
14. Operate motorized equipment (ie forklift, KVAL lifts, etc) as needed
15. Perform minor preventative maintenance and operator care as required
16. Assist Management, Maintenance and Quality personnel when troubleshooting equipment, process or material issues
17. Communicate effectively for flow of product through the plant
18. Maintain downtime records and production information as appropriate
19. Perform housekeeping duties
20. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
21. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment
22. Work safely and follow safety rules and procedures

Skills and Qualifications

• Basic reading and writing skills
• Ability to add and subtract fractions and whole numbers, convert fractions to decimals
• Proficient at reading/interpreting
• High level of dexterity
• Must work well as a team
• Able to work with little supervision
• Attention to detail
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs
• Frequent ending, twisting, stooping
• Must work at a fast pace
• Standing for long continuous hours
• Ability to work in a mildly controlled environment - can expect some cold and heat during extreme weather conditions; mildly dusty environment
• Ability to read a tape measure
