Targets Product Engineer

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Targets Product Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Support the DTL Engineering team in all aspects of Target System’s design, analysis, and test to include requirements development, production, qualification, integration, and flight test.
• Collaborate with a dynamic team of experts across multiple technical areas to develop engineering analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deliverables are met on time.
• Providing expert advice to product and component failure investigations and review boards.
• Represent the interests of the customer in Working Groups and Technical Interchange Meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field with strong preference for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
• 7+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program / project.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Must be a US Citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong preference for experience working on large scale solid rocket motors, bulkhead initiators, ordnance modules, Flight Termination Systems, motor cases, aging & surveillance, muzzle design, and static fire testing.
• Experience with transportation modes and impacts for rocket motors.
• Familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processes.
• Experience supporting MDA Flight Test, analysis, and review.
• Experience with the development of rocket motors, ground support launch equipment, and reentry vehicles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks.
• Ability to communicate detailed technical information to technical and non-technical personnel.
