Program Manager, Controls
Job Description
The Program Manager owns the success of strategic accounts, driving growth, overseeing execution, and fostering strong relationships that deliver value. The Program Manager is the voice of the customer, the driver of internal and external initiatives, and the champion of accountability. The role shapes the customer experience, maximizes return on investment, and propels both the customer and the organization forward.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive program strategy that aligns with business goals and customer priorities.
- Take ownership of program execution, ensuring initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and delivering intended outcomes.
- Identify and drive key projects necessary to achieve program objectives, ensuring accountability across all functions.
- Define and enforce key performance indicators (KPIs), using data to measure success and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain a real‑time program dashboard, ensuring visibility into all ongoing initiatives.
- Regularly present program updates and insights to senior leadership and customer executives, influencing decision‑making.
- Anticipate challenges, proactively developing solutions to eliminate roadblocks and maintain momentum.
- Drive alignment across cross‑functional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and execution.
- Leverage stakeholder feedback and lessons learned to refine strategies and enhance future initiatives.
- Be the driving force behind seamless communication between internal teams and customers.
- Own and maintain executive‑level relationships, ensuring alignment and advocacy.
- Deliver compelling presentations and reports that highlight achievements, challenges, and strategic direction.
- Act as a connector between stakeholders, ensuring cohesion and clarity in all initiatives.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Monitor program execution, ensuring key milestones are met.
- Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues, provide updates, and strengthen relationships.
- Follow up on outstanding customer inquiries (e.g., proposals), project tasks, and cross‑functional actions.
- Engage with internal teams to drive program success.
- Develop and refine program roadmaps, keeping them aligned with business goals and customer objectives.
- Own and lead business reviews with customers and internal teams, providing performance insights.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and program execution.
- Conduct performance reviews of program KPIs.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in program management, project management, field service operations, controls/HVACR execution, construction commissioning, or multi‑site retail rollout programs.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating cross‑functional teams (field service, engineering, project management, operations, supply chain, and sales) to deliver complex customer programs across multiple locations simultaneously.
- Strong customer‑facing experience supporting enterprise or national accounts, with the ability to manage schedules, risks, escalations, and execution alignment across stakeholders.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience working in ERP or project tracking environments (e.g., Oracle, Salesforce, QuickBase, MS Project).
- Familiarity with refrigeration controls, BAS, or commissioning environments.
Remote Work Arrangement
This role is fully remote. A remote colleague may be required to travel to a Copeland site regularly to collaborate with the team or customers as needed. Copeland is committed to fostering a productive and connected culture, enabling collaboration effectively.
Compensation philosophy: a competitive base salary within the local market, plus an award during annual merit review. For Colorado employees, the salary/pay range is $85,000–$105,000 annually plus a stipend for on‑call shifts, commensurate with skills and experience.
