MANUAL MACHINIST

Location: Huntsville, AL

Hours: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Position Overview:

MEDTHERM is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing Team. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining manual machining equipment to manufacture precision components used in aerospace, defense, and industrial applications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and takes pride in producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, saws, and other shop equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings
• Machine precision parts to required tolerances and specifications
• Perform setup, adjustments, and basic maintenance on equipment
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments
• Work closely with engineering and production teams to meet schedules and quality standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality requirements

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of manual machining experience preferred
• Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and shop mathematics
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and indicators
• Experience working with stainless steel, Inconel, or other aerospace materials is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship
• Dependable with a solid work ethic and positive attitude

Education:

Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently walks and occasionally sits. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, including the use of microscopes.
