Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled, motivated Auto Mechanic / Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform a wide range of diagnostic, repair, and maintenance tasks on cars, trucks, and SUVs—both domestic and import. You will ensure vehicles are safe, reliable, and operate at peak performance, while maintaining high standards of customer service, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose vehicle issues using computerized diagnostic tools, electrical schematics, and traditional hands-on methods.
Perform scheduled maintenance services (e.g., oil changes, tire rotations, filter replacements, fluid flushes).
Repair or replace worn or defective parts including brakes, bearings, belts, hoses, starters, alternators, and more.
Service heating, air-conditioning (HVAC), and climate control systems.
Conduct engine, transmission, suspension, alignment, and drivetrain repairs.
Perform vehicle inspections and safety checks.
Test drive vehicles to ensure repairs have resolved issues and that systems are functioning correctly.
Read and interpret repair manuals, technical bulletins, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
Maintain accurate work order documentation, parts usage, and time estimates.
Collaborate with shop manager, service advisors, and other mechanics to ensure workflow efficiency.
Provide customers with clear, honest estimates before beginning work; explain technical issues in understandable terms.
Follow all safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized work area, and respect tools and equipment care.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2–3 years of experience as an auto mechanic / technician in a professional shop environment preferred but not required.
Demonstrated experience with both domestic and import vehicles is highly desirable.
Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical troubleshooting ability.
Good understanding of automotive electrical systems and onboard electronics.
Experience with HVAC, alignment, and drivetrain repairs a plus.
Comfortable using diagnostic tools, scanners, lifts, and typical shop equipment.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
Physical stamina: ability to lift up to ~50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and work in varying environmental conditions.
Certifications & Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Working Conditions & Schedule:
Standard schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Some flexibility may be required.
Shop environment: exposure to noise, grease, solvents, and variable temperatures.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required (gloves, eye protection, etc.).
Occasionally working after hours or overtime may be required depending on workload.
