Nurse Manager Labor Delivery

A leading regional hospital based in northern Alabama is now seeking an experienced Nurse Manager Labor Deliver to join their award-winning healthcare team.

The Nurse Manager will oversee a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit, ensuring safe, compassionate, evidence-based maternal-newborn care across triage, antepartum, intrapartum, and immediate postpartum settings. Daily responsibilities include supervising and mentoring RNs, charge nurses, and techs; coordinating staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments for a 24/7 unit; rounding to optimize clinical outcomes, patient experience, and baby-friendly practices; partnering with OB/GYNs, midwives, anesthesiology, neonatology/NICU, and perioperative teams to streamline workflows and manage obstetric emergencies; monitoring fetal surveillance and compliance with AWHONN/ACOG guidelines; driving quality improvement, audits, and policy updates; managing budgets, supplies, and vendor relations; ensuring regulatory readiness (Joint Commission, CMS) and documentation integrity; facilitating staff education, competency validation (NRP, EFM), and performance evaluations; and championing a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What's Needed to Succeed:

• Degree from an accredited nursing program
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse RN in the state of Alabama or ability to obtain upon hire
• Proven leadership experience in a maternal health clinical setting
