Position Overview
Capstone is seeking an experienced Controller to lead and oversee the financial operations of the company. The Controller will play a critical role in managing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and controls. This position partners closely with CFO to ensure the financial health and operational efficiency of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, job cost accounting, and general ledger management.


• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, forecasts, and reports for leadership.


• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control policies.


• Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.


• Oversee job cost tracking, subcontractor payments, lien waivers, and project billing.


• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency.


• Partner with project management teams to provide financial insights into project performance.


• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.


• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.


• Construction industry experience required; multifamily or general contracting strongly preferred.


• Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices, job cost, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.


• Proficiency with accounting and construction management software (e.g., Sage 300/Timberline, Procore, or similar).


• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
