Supply Chain Specialist
- Manage master planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.
- Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.
- Source and purchase critical materials, equipment, and supplies supporting the maintenance/ production departments as needed.
- Evaluate and select supplier quotes based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality or delivery.
- Maintain day-to-day communication with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, system data integrity, and accurate ordering parameters for individual materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure optimal stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Analyze inventory usage trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
- Implement inventory control measures to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of supply chain/quality experience)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
- Demonstrated LEAN leadership, including implementation of Standard Work, Daily Management, and Visual Management tools.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and maintenance processes.
- Ability and willingness to work off-shift as required.
- Ability to assume additional responsibilities as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface with personnel from diverse backgrounds at all organizational levels.
- MRO product knowledge preferred.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
- Ability to compile routine reports and write correspondence.
- Ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
- May be required to work remote within specific conditions.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
