The Tool Repair Technician I is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various pneumatic tools and equipment, while also performing related computer system tasks. This role ensures that all tools are functioning correctly and safely to support industrial, manufacturing, and construction operations. The Pneumatic Tool Repair Technician must be a self-motivated worker with good mechanical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and diagnose issues with pneumatic tools, such as air compressors, nail guns, and staplers.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble pneumatic tools, replacing faulty components like O-rings, seals, gaskets, and blades.
- Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and calibration of tools.
- Test repaired tools to confirm proper functionality and safety standards before returning them to service.
- Accurately document repairs, parts used, and maintenance tasks in computer systems.
- Manage and maintain inventory of replacement parts and tools through computer software.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers on tool operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Follow safety protocols and comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics or a related field is advantageous.
- Previous experience in tool repair, mechanical maintenance or a similar field.
- Solid understanding of pneumatic systems and related components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized repair equipment.
- Familiarity with computer systems and software for data entry, inventory tracking, and report generation.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a safety-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication skills for effectively interacting with customers.
Working Conditions:
- The role may involve lifting heavy tools and working in environments that are noisy or dusty.
- Use of protective equipment, such as gloves and safety glasses, is often required.
- Full-time position with potential overtime depending on workload and urgency.
