Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available for the 2025/26 school year, serving a K-12 caseload in a dynamic educational setting located in Harvest, AL. This role involves supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing by providing clear and effective communication access throughout the school day. The contract is for the entire school year, ensuring a consistent and supportive environment for students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and professional sign language interpreting services to students, teachers, and staff in classroom and extracurricular settings.
• Facilitate communication during individual and group instruction, meetings, and school events.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of interpreting.
• Participate in training and professional development as needed to stay current with interpreting practices.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting experience in educational environments.
• Knowledge of K-12 educational settings and ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with staff, students, and families.
• Certification or credentials in sign language interpreting preferred.
• Commitment to student success and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
