Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with patient intake processes to ensure smooth clinic flow.
- Measure vital signs accurately and document patient histories using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Prepare examination rooms, assist providers during procedures, and handle basic medication administration when necessary.
- Support physicians with diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging or basic laboratory tasks in outpatient or hospital settings.
- Manage medical documentation including ICD coding for diagnoses, updating patient records, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist with patient education on treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up care instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas while adhering to infection control protocolsin various environments like Geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Level I Trauma Centers.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical medicine practices.
- Experience working in primary care environments.
- Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation, scheduling, and billing purposes.
- Ability to perform vital signs collection, patient assessment, and basic life support (BLS) certification is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ICD coding procedures and medication administration protocols in inpatient or outpatient contexts.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations in a clinical office.
- Prior experience supporting medical teams with primary care is preferred.
