Job Summary:

Responsible for providing quality customer support for Taxpayers through phone, email and correspondence, daily processing of payments, working Short Term Rentals (STR) taxes, DRE projects, and new client implementations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Short Term Rental Tax compliance focus by:

• Inbound/outbound telephone customer service; handle support emails, refunds, research, resolve, and record problems.
• Work in conjunction with other departments for training, data entry, taxpayer support and communications.
• Review ordinances/acts/legislation to become familiar with requirements, rates, municipal workflows, and representatives of city/county government.
• Prepare and assist in proofing of data and correspondence.
• Ability to complete tasks with aggressive deadlines, ability to work on multiple projects at one time and with little supervision.
• Additional responsibilities are assigned as deemed necessary on a weekly/daily basis.
• The candidate will oversee the compliance and workload of various DRE positions and manage in accordance with Avenu policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; or 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have excellent to intermediate proficiencies in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Salesforce and Constant Contact experience a plus.
• Previous experience in data analysis or related position is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to speak effectively with customers and employees.
• Ability to proofread correspondence, detect and correct errors, read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to prepare routine correspondence and replies for signature with minimal guidance.
• Ability to perform advanced math computations using an online, desktop calculator, or creating calculations in spreadsheets.
• Able to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to satisfactorily resolve routine situations based on supervisor’s guidance or written verbal instructions.

In addition, Analyst must be knowledgeable in:

• Mapping structures with property boundaries, GIS Mapping
• Postal, delivery requirements from federal and international law
• Data mining from various sources including purchased databases, online resources, and other mining resources
• Data analysis to include multiple table integrations
• Advance data reporting skills (Power BI, generating advance client facing reports)
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Office Suite skills
• Hamari software
• Corresponding with clients daily to produce reports, analysis, and other generated data
• Due to this position being client facing the applicant may be required to travel on an occasional basis.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office setting, at an individual workstation, using telephone and computer

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copy machine
• This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office
• The person in this position frequently communicates via telephone
