Job Title: Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Mechanic to support daily operations by maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles, equipment, and tools. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their work and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The position offers flexibility, with work hours available from Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Work on small engines, such as lawn mowers, pressure washers, generators, and chainsaws.
• Maintain and repair pickup trucks and light-duty vehicles.
• Assist with maintenance of construction equipment, including mini excavators, backhoes, and trailers.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Track maintenance needs and repair status.
• Communicate equipment issues and timelines with team members.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
• Support shop and field operations as needed.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge.
• Experience with equipment repair and maintenance.
• Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift tools, equipment, and parts as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous mechanic or equipment maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience working on multiple types of equipment strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with small engines, vehicles, and construction equipment is a plus.
• Basic computer or mobile device skills preferred.
• Dependable, organized, and safety-focused.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.

Work Environment

The work environment is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring strong mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot various equipment issues. The dress code is casual but safety-focused, ensuring a comfortable yet secure work experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Decatur, AL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
