Head of Logistics and Export Compliance - MAN004

Defining and ensuring compliance to all import and export control classification requirements at all times. Provide clarity and guidance on ECCN and commodity coding, ITAR requirements, Identify and drive opportunities to reduce VAT and import/export duty rates.

Define the logistics models required by our customers and model them into a service we can provide. Mapping out the third-party warehouse and logistics provider models required and tendering to a sourcing decision, ensuring we are achieving value for money and a lean operating model.

Support the growth of the business to document and install relevant processes procedures and classifications. Support the maturity development of the SC organisation through demand management and logistics of material and FG’s through the business. Provide support to supplier selection based on Freight, duty and denied party screening.

• Assess and collate all customer outbound delivery requirements.

• Proactively assess opportunities to minimize Freight and duty costs

• Ensure all parts are classified under correct ECCN and commodity coding for UK and US.

• Document all relevant processes and procedures associated with outbound logistics and 3PL selection and management.

• Ensure suitable logistics models are in place, clearly defined ahead of any customer deliverables, and fully understood by the business.

• Ensure we have accurate classifications and licenses in place, and responsible for ensuring compliance.

• Validate ECCN number commodity coding and duty rates for all material and FG’s through to end destination.

• Working across the SC team support the development of Demand management through to customer shipments

• Identify opportunities and lead specific projects to deliver a step change in the operational maturity of the SC organisation

• Ensure Project Delivery governance is followed and help to define/optimise delivery standards and processes.

• Write compelling business cases to support specific transformation projects.

• Actively contribute to developing a positive culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.

Requirements

• Extensive experience of international Logistics and export compliance

• Expertise in duty classifications and ITAR requirements

• Experience in selecting and working with logistics providers and 3PL’s

• History working in customer facing roles

• Extensive experience in a Senior Project Management role

• Good working knowledge in a range of business analysis techniques and methodologies including process mapping and analysis, service design and facilitation of meetings and workshops.

• Solid understanding of project management methodologies, frameworks, processes, tools and industry best practices

• Experience in leveraging tools to enable project management, issue tracking and reporting

• Experience in applying and embedding TMO or PMO methodologies across large scale programs

• Effective written and verbal communications including ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms to stakeholders as required

• Working experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously

• Excellent planning and task management skills

• Proven experience in facilitating workshops and program planning sessions

• Experience of working with business stakeholders across multiple businesses, markets and support functions
