As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Alarm Panel Patrol in Bessemer, AL , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.46 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, common spaces, parking areas, loading zones, and the property perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, verify credentials as required, and direct guests to appropriate locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical events, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications while maintaining a professional presence in a fast-paced technology environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
