The world's top companies across every major industry trust Teradata to improve business performance, enrich customer experiences, and fully integrate data across the enterprise. **What You'll Do** **In this role you will...** + Design and build intelligent, autonomous AI systems that enable Teradata to push the boundaries of enterprise-scale agentic technology. + Lead the development of scalable, secure, cloud-native frameworks that allow AI agents to reason, plan, act, and collaborate in real-world production environments. + Create the foundational runtime components, automation capabilities, and infrastructure that power next-generation GenAI and Agentic AI solutions. + Work closely with AI researchers, platform teams, and product leadership to bring advanced agentic capabilities from concept to production across Teradata's data and AI platform. + Succeed in this role by enabling enterprise customers to leverage powerful, resilient, and safely governed AI agents that drive measurable business value. **Who You'll Work With** **On our team, we...** + Are part of Teradata's global engineering organization, responsible for building the technologies that power **VantageCloud** , our unified data and AI platform. + Operate at the intersection of cloud computing, advanced analytics, and AI-driven automation to help enterprises unify and analyze data across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. + Solve highly complex challenges in scalability, performance, interoperability, and intelligent automation to enable customers to turn data into insights and innovation. + Collaborate across research, architecture, platform engineering, and product teams to shape the future of enterprise AI. + This position reports into the AI engineering leadership team within Teradata's global engineering organization. **What Makes You a Qualified Candidate** + Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying autonomous AI agents at scale. + Expertise in building agent-based architectures and runtime components for next-generation AI/LLM systems. + Hands-on experience implementing governance, safety, and compliance in agentic AI environments. + Ability to partner effectively with product leaders, architects, and platform teams to define enterprise-grade AI capabilities. + Strong technical ability with intelligent automation, generative AI, and agentic system design. **What You'll Bring** + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. + 3-5+ years of experience in software architecture, backend development, or AI infrastructure, with strong Python skills and familiarity with Java, Go, and C++. + Deep expertise in agent development, LLM integration, prompt engineering, runtime systems, and AI tooling. + Experience with MCP servers, vector databases, RAG systems, graph-based memory, and NLP frameworks. + Ability to design core agentic capabilities such as memory management, context handling, observability, and identity. + Strong background in distributed systems, backend services, API design, and cloud-native deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP). + Proficiency with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable production infrastructures. + Excellent communication skills, documentation habits, and ability to mentor or collaborate across teams. + Passion for building safe, human-aligned, autonomous systems and extending open-source tools to innovate. **Why We Think You'll Love Teradata** We prioritize a people-first culture because we know our people are at the very heart of our success. Pay Rate: 199500.0000 - 249400.0000 - 299300.0000 Annually Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on geographic location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and candidate experience. Sales roles will be eligible for commission payments tied to quota achievement. All other permanent roles will be eligible for one of our annual incentive plans, which are based on company financial attainment and individual performance.
