Job Description
Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Seeking experienced Sign Language Interpreters to support K-12 and K-4 students in a full-time, onsite position for the school year. These opportunities are contracted roles located in Atmore, AL, serving multiple schools within the district.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting and teaching
- Experience working with students across K-12 grade levels preferred
- Ability to effectively facilitate munication and support diverse learners
- Strong classroom management skills and collaboration with educational staff
- Certification and pliance with state interpreter requirements as applicable
Location:
- Atmore, Alabama (onsite position)
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional ASL interpreting services for students in classroom settings
- Support student learning by facilitating munication between students, teachers, and staff
- Assist in the development and implementation of language accessibility plans
- Collaborate with educators, speech therapists, and other specialists to create inclusive learning environments
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions
