We are a local non-profit organization serving children & adults with developmental disabilities. We are looking to fill a Full-time, salaried position to provide case management and coordination for individuals with developmental disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, many of whom receive Medicaid-funded waiver services. Activities include planning, linking, and service coordination, as well as monitoring of service provision.
Position requires:
- The ability to organize, manage, and document complex services involving consumers, families, and private providers.
- Candidates need the ability to work effectively with a varied range of ages and disability levels.
- Requires knowledge of developmental disabilities and documentation procedures, and a working knowledge of client rights and local service systems.
- A Bachelor’s degree in human services, plus one year of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities, is required.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Current Valid Driver's License Required
- Current Car Insurance Required
- Certification or training in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is desirable, but can be obtained after being hired
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
- Must be Alabama Medicaid Qualified Developmental Disability Professional (QDDP) eligible
Experience:
- Experience working directly with persons with Developmental Disabilities: 1 year (Required)
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in human services (Required)
