AMVAC Chemical Corporation, an American Vanguard Company, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to manage the full Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process for Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) goods and services across our facilities. This role ensures uninterrupted operations by efficiently purchasing spare parts, consumables, and contracted services, while maintaining compliance with company policies and supplier agreements. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with MRO categories, ERP systems, and supplier coordination. This position is on-site, 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchase-to-Pay Execution

• Manage requisitions and issue purchase orders for MRO supplies, equipment, and services in line with approved budgets and supplier contracts.
• Verify pricing, terms, and supplier compliance before purchase order issuance.
• Track open orders, expedite deliveries, and resolve delivery issues to avoid maintenance downtime.
• Reconcile purchase orders, goods receipts, and invoices to ensure timely and accurate payment.

Supplier Communication & Coordination

• Act as the primary point of contact for MRO suppliers on order status, lead times, and documentation.
• Assist in gathering supplier performance data (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness).
• Support vendor consolidation and approved supplier list management.

Inventory & Data Integrity

• Work with maintenance and storeroom teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and reorder points.
• Keep ERP system data accurate for parts, suppliers, and pricing.
• Generate routine spending and performance reports for the MRO Procurement Lead.

Continuous Improvement & Compliance

• Identify opportunities to streamline the P2P process for MRO items.
• Support implementation of digital procurement tools and catalog buying where appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and safety/regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in MRO, industrial supplies, or manufacturing environments.
• Solid understanding of the P2P cycle and ERP/procurement systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and vendor relationship skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting tools.
