Structural Designer,

The Senior Structural Designer will be responsible for developing 3D models and design documentation for structural steel systems, reinforced concrete structures, and ductwork/supporting systems. This role involves creating conceptual layouts, conducting technical reviews, preparing material quantity takeoffs, and collaborating with various teams to ensure design alignment and constructability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy industrial or power plant environments.

Responsibilities:

- Develop comprehensive 3D models and design documentation for structural steel systems, reinforced concrete structures, and ductwork/supporting systems.
- Create conceptual layouts and support early-phase design planning.
- Conduct technical reviews of vendor shop drawings.
- Prepare detailed material quantity takeoffs and support cost estimation efforts.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams, clients, and contractors to ensure design alignment and constructability.
- Participate in on-site walkdowns to verify field conditions and support construction planning.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- 20+ years of relevant design experience in heavy industrial or power plant environments.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated expertise in 3D modeling and drawing generation.
- Solid background in steel and concrete detailing.
- Strong technical communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate drawing notes.
- Able to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to develop positive relationships with plant personnel, design engineers, and third-party vendors.

- Experience with Advance Steel.
- Familiarity with current construction codes and standards.
- Practical understanding of field installation constraints.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and project schedule adherence.
