Federal Construction Quality Control Manager
CONSTRUCTION QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER
Outside The Box, LLC is a General Contractor specializing in construction and renovation work for the federal government. We are planning for progressive growth over the next several years, and are looking for ambitious, high-caliber professionals to grow with our company. We are currently looking to hire a Quality Control Manager for the Selma, AL area with a minimum 5-10 years Federal experience who is able to get clearance for federal projects.
QC Manager:- Department: Corporate | Job Status: Full Time.
- FLSA Status: Exempt | Reports To: Project Manager.
- Grade/Level: 4 year degree | Travel Required: Yes, as needed per project.
- Work Schedule: Various | Positions Supervised: Laborers, Sub Contractors.
POSITION SUMMARY:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare daily reports for submittal to the Government.
- Prepare quality and safety meeting agendas and conduct meetings.
- Perform daily quality control inspections to ensure all work is in compliance with the project plans and specifications.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and performance at company work sites.
- Administration in accordance with Corps of Engineers guidelines pertaining to company operations.
- When possible, accompany Government inspectors on inspections at company work sites.
- Recognize that subcontractors are the company’s responsibility when on our work sites.
- Maintain project as-builts.
- Prepare & submit project closeout documents in accordance with the plans and specifications.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
- Direct testing activities throughout production cycles.
- Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Analyze quality control test results and provide feedback and interpretation to management or staff.
- Direct the tracking of defects, test results, or other regularly reported quality control data.
- Identify critical points in the construction process and specify sampling procedures to be used at these points.
- Identify quality problems or areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
- Instruct staff in quality control and analytical procedures.
- Instruct vendors or contractors on quality guidelines, testing procedures, or ways to eliminate deficiencies.
- Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses, or quality trends.
- Review and update standard operating procedures or quality assurance manuals.
- Review quality documentation necessary for regulatory submissions and inspections.
- Verify that raw materials, purchased parts or components, in-process samples, and finished products meet established testing and inspection standards.
- Collect and analyze material samples to evaluate quality.
- Evaluate new testing and sampling methodologies or technologies to determine usefulness.
- Generate and maintain quality control operating budgets.
- Review and approve quality plans submitted by contractors.
- Stop production if serious product defects are present.
- Maintain and insure all employees and visitors adhere to the Site Safety and Health Plan, Environmental Protection Plan, Accident Prevention Plan, Activity Hazard Analysis and Construction Quality Control Plan.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, Construction management, Occupational Safety, and Health or related field is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
- Applicable certification in Quality.
- USACE Contractor Quality Management (CQM) certificate required.
- Knowledge of USACE Resident Management System (RMS) required.
- OSHA 30 Hour Certification and Qualify Control Certification.
- Three years of experience directly related to construction quality control and two years of RMS 3.0 experience.
- US Citizenship or Green Card certification.
- Ability to pass a background investigation.
- Clean driving record.
Computer Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite.
Certificates & Licenses:
- USACE CQM Certification.
- OSHA 30 Hour Certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Various construction projects using a variety of construction systems, in different environments and regional area. Work will consist of, but not be limited to general and specialized construction including new construction, interior/exterior renovations/rehabilitations, tenant improvements and system upgrades.
