About the Role:

The Service Porter plays a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation and presentation of a service facility, primarily focusing on the transportation and preparation of vehicles for service or delivery. This position ensures that vehicles are moved safely and efficiently between customer areas, service bays, and parking locations, contributing to an organized and customer-friendly environment. The Service Porter supports the service team by performing cleaning, fueling, and basic maintenance tasks to prepare vehicles for customer pickup or further service. Attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential to uphold the quality standards and enhance the overall customer experience. Ultimately, the Service Porter helps create a seamless workflow that supports the dealership or service center’s operational goals and customer satisfaction objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate vehicles safely in various conditions and environments.
• Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of vehicle operations and safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a service porter or similar automotive support role.
• Familiarity with automotive cleaning and detailing techniques.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Safely move vehicles between customer parking, service bays, and designated areas within the facility.
• Clean and prepare vehicles by washing, vacuuming, and performing basic detailing tasks to ensure they meet presentation standards.
• Refuel vehicles and check fluid levels to support service readiness and customer delivery.
• Assist service technicians by retrieving parts, tools, or vehicles as needed to facilitate efficient service operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service lot, parking areas, and service bays to promote a safe and professional environment.

Skills:

The Service Porter utilizes driving skills daily to maneuver vehicles safely within the facility, ensuring no damage occurs during transport. Attention to detail is critical when cleaning and preparing vehicles, as this directly impacts customer satisfaction and the service center’s reputation.
