Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nations defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.The Work
The Software Engineer Stf responsibilities include software development and support of the Missile Defense Agencys (MDAs) Ground-Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) program. You will be responsible for developing and implementing software updates that best meet changing customer needs for new and existing features, collaborating with team members, and working in a cross-functional agile scrum team.
General activities :
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions with ingenuity and creativity.
Collaborates with other software and systems engineers to determine computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems with program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions.
Ensure software standards are met.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding and wide application of software development related technical principles, theories, and concepts. Show general knowledge of other related disciplines.
Essential Functions:
Support advanced portions of the lifecycle of software development to include requirements definition, integration, and deployment.
Prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results with limited oversight and direction.
Apply 'systems thinking' to ensure developed products are scalable, maintainable, and meet end-user needs.
Communicate openly and effectively with teammates and customer representatives.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master's STEM Degree and 6 years of related experience, or 4 years of experience with a PhD.
Extensive experience developing object oriented software in C#
Extensive experience with Embedded software development
Experience developing software in a Windows environment
Experience developing and maintaining unit tests in Windows/.NET environments using industry standard test frameworks and mocking techniques.
Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.
Desired Skills:
Missile Defense domain knowledge
Security + Certification
A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Familiarity with Atlassian and Agile software development practices.
Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
Knowledge of SysUML
Experience using NUnit
Experience with Moq
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
