This is a dynamic opportunity to join a rapidly growing company delivering Artificial Intelligence systems and software engineering services/solutions to DoD and Federal clients. We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to lead the technical execution of a cutting-edge development and integration effort for Maneuver Short-Range Air Defense (MSHORAD) systems. Our work includes developing advanced algorithms, microservice-based architectures, and command-and-control (C2) messaging systems to support warfighting requirements. This role will drive Agile development cycles, translate requirements into actionable workflows, and ensure alignment with performance standards and delivery timelines. The Project Engineer will work closely with software engineers, systems architects, and senior leadership to deliver innovative solutions supporting warfighting requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems integration, software development, and open architecture design, with experience in defense-related projects. This role offers the chance to shape cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative, high-growth environment. You'll contribute to a mission-critical effort that includes real-time operator displays, advanced algorithms, and interoperable defense software - all delivered from our secure Huntsville facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership:
- Lead technical execution across Agile development cycles, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to project milestones.
- Translate system requirements into integrated architecture and workflows, enabling seamless system functionality.
- Project Coordination:
- Coordinate design reviews, integration milestones, and customer deliveries to meet project objectives and timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, AI/ML specialists, and program managers, to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Standards & Performance:
- Ensure alignment with open standards, performance requirements, and fielding timelines to support mission-critical applications.
- Drive compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards and government procurement processes.
- Process Improvement:
- Support the adoption of SAFe or other Agile methodologies to enhance project efficiency and team collaboration.
- Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies to improve system design and integration practices.
Qualifications:
- High-energy individual thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with significant growth opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Proficiency in ADA, C++, and Java for software development and systems integration.
- Experience with microservice/container -based architectures (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong systems integration and open architecture background.
- Familiarity with MSHORAD components or C2ISR systems is highly desirable.
- SAFe or other Agile certifications are a plus.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage technical teams and customer interactions.
- Live within the Huntsville, AL area.
