Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at a high school serving grades 9-12 in Evergreen, AL. The role begins August 6th and is a contracted position for the uping school year. This opportunity involves managing a caseload of 15-20 students within a resource classroom setting, providing tailored instruction and support to meet individualized learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for high school students with diverse learning challenges
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to acmodate various learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and families to support student progress
- Monitor and document student performance and behavior to inform instructional decisions
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with high school students (grades 9-12)
- Ability to design and deliver individualized instruction
- Strong munication and collaboration skills
- mitment to student-centered teaching and fostering independence

Start Date: August 6th
Duration: Full school year (contract)
Classroom Setting: Resource classroom with a caseload of 15-20 high school students
