Metal Finisher

We are seeking a skilled machine operator with experience in working with lathe machines, specifically Haas machines, for over 2 years. The successful candidate must be proficient in reading blueprints, using hand tools, and polishing or grinding edges of medical tools to ensure they meet specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate metal finishing equipment, including polishing belts and wheels.
• Use and maintain chemical baths to strip and polish parts.
• Utilize cleaning baths for cleaning metal and plastic parts.
• Finish metal products according to customer specifications.
• Inspect, measure, and test manufactured products.
• Deburr manufactured parts to meet quality standards.
• Ensure products conform to specifications.
• Prevent damage to equipment and processes.
• Adhere to ISO quality management system procedures.
• Follow safety and environmental procedures.
• Execute written and verbal instructions from leadership.
• Collaborate with all departments as necessary.
• Perform non-routine tasks as assigned by supervisors or company officers.

• 2+ years of experience with lathe machines (Haas preferred).
• Proficiency in blueprint reading.
• Experience with grinding, polishing, deburring, and buffing.
• Strong math skills, including the ability to perform calculations in both English and Metric systems.
• Ability to read complicated drawings and specifications.

• 3+ years of experience in metal finishing preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, use hand tools, and lift or move up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment

Our facility operates a busy schedule with shifts from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and one Saturday a month. The role involves standing for long periods and requires frequent use of hand tools and measuring devices.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Florence, AL.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00/hr.
