Make a meaningful difference in students' lives by supporting learners who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school district near Pelham, AL. This contract opportunity places you within a collaborative educational environment, where your expertise as a Hearing Impaired Teacher will help ensure every student can access a high-quality education. You’ll also join an established support network, working alongside another enthusiastic professional placed by our agency who will assist with your screening process.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate.
- Meet Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements, or show willingness to fulfill these requirements within specified timeframes.
- Hold, or be eligible for, all necessary certification and licensure for Deaf/Hard of Hearing teaching roles in Alabama.
- Previous experience with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues, students, and families to promote an inclusive and accessible classroom.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to enhance the learning experience and accessibility.
- Advocate for students’ needs and promote a supportive, inclusive environment.
- Participate in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
- Communicate effectively with families and caregivers to foster partnership and understanding.
