Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Supervisor oversees audit activities, regulatory compliance, and the effectiveness of the Quality Management System within a Part 145 Repair Station. This role coordinates internal and external audits, ensures compliance with FAA, AS9100/AS9110/ISO9001, and DCMA 8210 requirements, and serves as the primary point of contact for customers and regulatory authorities. The position manages the corrective action program, leads root cause analysis investigations, and ensures effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Additional responsibilities include maintaining company manuals and records (RSM/QCM), managing inspector qualifications and the repair station roster, overseeing TMDE calibration and the Approved Vendors List, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, administering export compliance (ITAR), and ensuring overall quality system integrity.
General Accountabilities
- Manage and execute all inspection and airworthiness release activities.
- Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and accuracy of all inspection results.
- Maintain and update the Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), and inspection procedures.
- Maintain the repair station roster, ensuring inspector qualifications, training, and certifications are current.
- Supervise incoming, in-process, and final inspections, including NDT activities.
- Ensure compliance with FAA Part 145, AS9100/9110, ISO9001, and company QMS requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the FAA, DCMA, and other regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate and lead internal and external audits (AS9100/AS9110/ISO9001, customer, and regulatory).
- Ensure compliance with DCMA 8210 guidelines and administer the Contractor Flight & Ground Operations Manual.
- Act as Export Compliance Manager (ITAR).
- Establish and maintain the Approved Vendors List (AVL), including subcontractor audits.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for internal and external non-conformances.
- Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented, effective, and sustained.
- Serve as point of contact for customer-initiated corrective actions.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives across quality and operational functions.
- Oversee Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration systems.
- Ensure configuration control and document accuracy across all quality systems.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise quality and inspection personnel.
- Conduct training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and maintain inspection training programs and competency standards.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Materials teams.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies.
- Enforce proper PPE usage and safe handling of tools, equipment, and hazardous materials.
- Report and address unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions.
- Support production flow while maintaining strict adherence to safety and compliance.
- Interface with customers, OEMs, and stakeholders on quality-related matters.
- Manage multiple priorities and projects, including use of project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet).

Job Qualifications and Skills
· High School diploma or equivalent (required)
· Minimum 10 years of aviation quality/maintenance experience (preferred)
· At least 5 years in a supervisory or Chief Inspector role within Part 145 repair station
· Experience in MRO or aerospace environments, including AVIM/AVUM operations
· Rotary-wing aircraft experience preferred (Bell, Sikorsky, Airbus; UH-1/UH-60 highly desirable)
· FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License (preferred)
· Inspection Authorization (IA) (preferred)
· AS9100/AS9110/ISO9001 Lead Auditor Certification (preferred)
· ITAR compliance experience (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 15lb.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Some travel may be required
