Staff Accountant
Kforce has a client in Birmingham, AL that is seeking a Staff Accountant. Responsibilities:
- Record and process incoming payments (check, ACH, credit card)
- Verify accuracy of payment coding and application
- Reconcile payments to accounts receivable records
- Process accounts receivable transactions and maintain accurate balances
- Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare and distribute regular accounts receivable reports, including aging
- Communicate with internal teams regarding outstanding balances and required actions
- Process refunds or adjustments for overpayments, cancellations, or other account changes
- Review and resolve unapplied payments
- Coordinate and submit financing documentation and act as liaison with external partners
- Support monthly close activities
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2-3+ years of relevant accounting or accounts receivable experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
