Use your carpentry skills to build andensure the integrity and functionality ofessential infrastructure. We cant build anything without you.

What youll get to do

  • Help construct bridges, dams, hydro-structures, bulkhead walls, roadways, and marine structures to enable critical transportation and emergency response
  • Experience the variety and challenge of building a wide range of incredible structures
  • Work with the benefit of clear direction from project management and engineering
  • Facilitate accurateconstruction execution by reading and interpretingplans and specifications
  • Construct sturdy and structurally sound wood/metal frameworks, concrete forms, and other wood structures
  • Create structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing concrete structures by placing concrete into forms
  • Enableproject progression through timely removal of concrete forms and nails.
  • Ensurethe integrity of wooden structures through inspection and repair
  • Enhanceworkflow by managing and replenishing materials
  • Foster collaborative relationships with Project Foremen, Crane Operators, Helpers, and other skilled crafts persons
  • Protect worker health and well-being by prioritizinga safe work environment and upholding regulatory compliance
  • Preservetool functionality, condition, andlifespanthrough proper storage and maintenance

  1. What are the physical requirements of this position? You can expect to spend your days standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, climbing up to 30', performing repetitive movements, working in confined spaces and at elevated heights, lifting up to 75 lbs, carrying up to 50 lbs, adapting to extreme temperature changes and outdoor conditions, and remaining calm during emergencies.
  2. What time do you typically start work? In time to see the sunrise. The typical schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 6 pm.
  3. Will I have to work weekends? It is sometimes necessary and we try to stagger/rotate to keep it fair.
  4. Are there seasonal layoffs or do you work year- round?Weoperateyear -roundand donot have any annual lay-offs.
  5. Will I travel for work? We perform work throughout the Southeast, and some projects may involve travel.
  6. Do you offer assistance for working away from home?In situations where our field crews are required to travel, we offer housing arrangements and per diem pay.
  7. Do you provide the listed tools? Yes, we do! Except fora tape measure and crescent wrench. We will always ensure that you have the right tools for every type of project.
  8. What happens when it rains? Sometimes we'll work in the rain, but only if work can be done SAFELY and if the materials we're working with that day are OK in the rain. Sometimes you'll get to receive additional training on rainy days.
  9. Is this work dangerous?It can be, andsafety is the rock-solid foundation of everything we do. It startswith training and educationand is cemented in the field by ourculture of protecting our team members like family. Safety is our way of life. You will receive appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE),attend regular job safety trainings, and participate in safety/environmental initiatives toensure your well-being and our compliance withState and Federal regulations.
  10. What happens at lunchtime? We typically break for 30 minutes, bring our lunch, and eat together on-site.
