• Perform custodial duties in accordance with the policies set by the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees and the J.F. Drake State Community and Technical College guidelines.

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout the campus buildings, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.

• Use cleaning supplies properly and safely to clean, disinfect, and sanitize surfaces, restrooms, fixtures, and furniture.

• Operate custodial equipment such as buffers, floor scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners efficiently and safely.

• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas.

• Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, and upkeep of custodial equipment.

• Maintain exterior campus areas by sweeping sidewalks, picking up litter, and ensuring grounds are tidy.

• Clean and clear blocked drains and toilets as needed.

• Dust and wipe down bulletin boards, window blinds, woodwork, and other surfaces regularly.

• Stock and replenish restroom and supply room materials to ensure availability.

• Support special campus events by preparing and setting up rooms, moving furniture, and assisting with cleaning afterward.

• Adhere to safety procedures and use personal protective equipment while handling chemicals and performing maintenance work.

• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate campus events and deep cleaning schedules.

• Follow instructions from supervisors and assist with additional tasks assigned by the Maintenance Lead, Director of Operations, or College President.
