Job Summary:
TMT America, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Senior Accountant to support the accounting and financial operations of multiple affiliated business entities. This position will report directly to the Controller and will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily accounting operations, assisting with month-end close activities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing and supporting operational accounting functions across multiple business entities while collaborating closely with the Controller, accounting team, and operational departments. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hands-on accounting responsibilities, and demonstrates strong organizational and analytical skills.
This position supports multiple affiliated entities under the TMT America, Inc. organization and will assist with maintaining efficient accounting processes and accurate financial reporting across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- General Accounting & Financial Operations
- Perform daily accounting activities for multiple affiliated business entities.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank accounts, credit card accounts, intercompany transactions, and fixed assets.
- Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and properly documented.
- Assist with maintaining the chart of accounts and supporting accounting procedures.
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Support
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Review invoices, expense reports, and payment requests for accuracy and proper coding.
- Assist with customer invoicing, payment applications, collections follow-up, and account reconciliations.
- Research and resolve vendor and customer account discrepancies.
- Monitor aging reports and communicate outstanding account issues to management.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Assist with preparing internal financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Reconcile financial records and identify discrepancies requiring correction.
- Support audit preparation, financial reviews, and compliance-related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal accounting controls.
- Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation.
- International & Operational Accounting Support
- Assist with accounting related to imports, freight expenses, duties, and international vendor transactions.
- Support reconciliation of inventory-related and freight-related costs.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal departments regarding accounting-related inquiries and documentation.
- Collaboration & Team Support
- Work collaboratively with the Controller and accounting team to support organizational financial goals.
- Provide support to operational departments regarding accounting processes and reporting requests.
- Assist with identifying opportunities to improve accounting efficiency and workflow processes.
- Support additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
- Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks Enterprise or similar ERP/accounting systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Education/Experience:
A bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, is required. A CPA or CMA certification is a plus. Prior experience is preferred working with multiple entities or related companies, import, freight, or international vendor accounting, distribution, manufacturing, or related industries, and knowledge of internal controls and financial reporting processes.
Physical Demands:
The physical requirements of this position involve primarily sedentary office work. Physical demands may include occasional standing, walking, reaching, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motion. Continuous talking, hearing, computer usage, and close visual acuity are required.
Work Location/Environmental Condition:
This position is based at the Florence Support Center in Florence, Alabama. Work is performed in a typical office environment with standard office equipment and minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
