Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time physical therapist role is available serving K-12 students across multiple school sites within the district in Birmingham, AL. This contract position offers 37.5 hours per week, with a schedule aligned to school hours from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The assignment runs from August 6th through November 13th.
Key responsibilities include providing physical therapy services in school settings to support students’ functional mobility, participation, and access to educational programs. The role involves assessing student needs, developing individualized treatment plans, collaborating with educators and families, and implementing therapeutic interventions across all district sites.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) with relevant state credentials.
- Experience delivering physical therapy in educational or school environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric physical therapy techniques suitable for K-12 students.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage caseload and documentation.
Location: Birmingham, Alabama (serving various school sites within the district).
This contract opportunity provides hands-on experience in school-based therapy, contributing directly to student success and school team collaboration over the fall semester.
