The Electrician is a skilled professional who specializes in electrical systems and wiring. Their primary responsibility is to install, maintain, repair, and upgrade electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Electrical Installations: Electricians are responsible for installing various electrical components and systems, such as electrical panels, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and wiring. They follow electrical codes and blueprints to ensure safe and proper installation.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Electricians perform regular maintenance checks on electrical systems to identify and fix any potential issues. They troubleshoot problems, such as electrical outages, faulty circuits, or malfunctioning equipment, and carry out repairs to restore functionality.
  • Electrical Upgrades: As technology and electrical requirements evolve, electricians may be involved in upgrading existing electrical systems to meet current standards or accommodate new equipment and appliances.
  • Safety Compliance: Electricians prioritize safety in their work. They must adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to prevent electrical hazards and ensure the well-being of occupants and property.
  • Testing and Inspection: Electricians conduct various tests and inspections on electrical systems to verify their performance and compliance with industry standards. This includes using specialized tools and equipment to measure voltage, current, and resistance.
  • Reading Blueprints and Technical Diagrams: Electricians interpret electrical blueprints and technical diagrams to plan and execute installations accurately. They need to understand electrical schematics and layouts to connect systems effectively.
  • Electrical Code Compliance: Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations is essential for electricians to ensure that all installations and repairs meet legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Communication: Electricians often work with other professionals, such as construction teams and project managers. Effective communication skills are crucial to understand project requirements, discuss technical details, and collaborate effectively.
  • Time Management: Electricians may work on multiple projects simultaneously or respond to emergency repair calls. Good time management skills are necessary to prioritize tasks and complete projects within specified timelines.
  • Electrical Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving electrical issues require analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Electricians must diagnose problems accurately to implement appropriate solutions.
  • Customer Service: In roles involving residential or commercial services, electricians interact with customers regularly. Providing good customer service, explaining electrical issues to clients, and addressing their concerns are important aspects of the job.

Position Requirements

  • Position requires extended hours, which will vary depending on job and site requirements. Each job will require their own specific hours of operation.
  • May need to work weekends if business needs require
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Must be able to traverse in all weather conditions and work in extreme temperatures
  • Will sit in a chair on a computer, at times, for more than 8 hours / day
  • Must be able to stand and walk continuously through shift
  • Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), respirator, when required
  • May be exposed to dust, fumes, and odoriferous working conditions
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function

Skills And Qualifications

  • Master Electrician licensing in state performing work.
  • Previous experience as an Electrician in the construction industry.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • A solid understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and equipment is essential for an electrician.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and construction practices.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret electrical design drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills related to electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with electrical construction practices and terminology.

Compensation & Benefits

Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. The Company reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
