Machinist
This role focuses on setting up and operating CNC mills to produce precision components for electronic manufacturing and PCB-related parts. You will work with 3- to 5-axis CNC mills, independently set up machines, and ensure parts meet quality specifications using standard inspection tools and blueprints. The position offers hands-on training, a climate-controlled environment, and the opportunity to work with a variety of materials and modern CNC equipment.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate 3- to 5-axis CNC mills to produce precision parts for electronic manufacturing and PCB components.
- Independently set up assigned CNC machines, including tooling, workholding, offsets, and program verification.
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand part specifications, tolerances, and machining requirements.
- Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and other quality control devices to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications.
- Perform in-process inspections and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and consistency throughout production runs.
- Work with a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and similar metals, adjusting machining parameters as needed.
- Operate CNC equipment safely and efficiently, following established procedures and shop practices.
- Use power tools and hand tools as needed to support machining operations and part finishing.
- Collaborate with trainers and experienced team members during initial onboarding and training, then transition to working more independently while maintaining communication with the team.
- Participate in orientation and adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety, inspection, and quality standards.
- Participate in on-site interviews and evaluations as part of the hiring process, including meetings with leadership and machine shop management.
- Proven experience as a CNC machinist or CNC machine operator with strong setup capabilities; 5 years of experience as a true CNC machinist is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently set up CNC mills, including tooling, fixturing, and program adjustments.
- Experience operating 3- to 5-axis CNC mills in a production or job shop environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection and quality control devices to measure parts.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machining and power tools.
- Experience working with metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium.
- Background in job shop machining, automotive, or medical manufacturing environments.
- Willingness to work 1st or 2nd shift as required.
- Ability to follow quality procedures, inspection requirements, and safety guidelines.
- Experience with Mazak machines and Ma-zak controls is a strong plus.
- Previous experience in electronic manufacturing or PCB-related machining is beneficial.
- Comfort operating both mills and lathes is an advantage.
- Inspection experience, including using micrometers and other precision measurement tools, is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining and setup issues.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively during training and ongoing production.
- Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance.
- Ability to adapt to a structured orientation and training process, then transition to more independent work.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility focused on electronic manufacturing and PCB-related parts. You will work on 3- to 5-axis CNC mills, including Mazak machines, and use a range of inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other QC devices. The position offers 1st and 2nd shift opportunities, with orientation conducted on-site followed by hands-on training on the production floor alongside a partner for approximately one to two weeks. After training, you will work more independently while still having access to support from experienced team members and machine shop leadership. The environment emphasizes safety, adherence to the employee handbook, and consistent use of power tools, machining equipment, and inspection instruments as part of daily operations.
