Software Systems Engineer III

job summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to support complex defense and government programs throughout the systems engineering lifecycle. This position directly impacts the Ground Based Radar Digitization program for the MDA, driving core requirements development and model-based engineering tasks. You will join a mission-focused environment executing critical systems architecture, integration, and verification activities.

responsibilities:
Perform systems engineering activities across the full system lifecycle including requirements analysis, functional decomposition, system architecture development, integration, test, and verification & validation (V&V).

Develop, analyze, and maintain critical system engineering documentation including Program Interface Documents (PIDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), System/Subsystem Specifications (SSS), and Software Requirements Specifications (SRS).

Utilize Jama for day-to-day requirements management, traceability, and cross-team collaboration.

Utilize Cameo Systems Modeler to develop and maintain MBSE artifacts, system models, and SysML diagrams (activity, sequence, use case, and interface models).

Conduct technical reviews, requirements reviews, and design reviews with internal teams and stakeholders.

Participate in risk identification, mitigation planning, configuration management, and technical issue resolution.

qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

5-10 years of proven systems engineering experience within the defense industry or supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs.

Deep hands-on experience using Cameo Systems Modeler, SysML modeling methodologies, and Jama for requirements tracking.

Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance and verified U.S. Citizenship (interim clearances cannot be accepted).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Expertise in crafting System/Subsystem Specifications (SSS) and Software Requirements Specifications (SRS).

Robust understanding of Verification & Validation (V&V), configuration management, and risk mitigation workflows.

Familiarity with Jira and Confluence collaboration platforms.
