Sanitation Collection Worker (Hopper)
Location: Fairhope, AL
Pay: $17.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00 AM–12:30 PM
We are seeking dependable, hardworking Sanitation Collection Workers (Hoppers) to join a sanitation crew in Fairhope, AL. This is a hands-on, physically active position working outdoors and assisting with the collection of residential and commercial waste along assigned routes.
Job Duties
Ride designated sanitation routes with the truck driver and collection crew
Collect trash, bags, containers, and other waste materials along assigned routes
Load waste materials into the hopper of the sanitation truck
Lift, carry, push, and pull trash containers throughout the workday
Pick up loose debris and help keep collection areas clean
Work safely around moving sanitation trucks, vehicles, pedestrians, and equipment
Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures
Perform other general labor and cleanup duties as assigned
Requirements
Ability to perform strenuous physical labor throughout the shift
Ability to frequently bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and reach
Ability to repeatedly lift 50+ pounds
Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and changing weather conditions
Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew
Previous sanitation, waste collection, landscaping, construction, warehouse, or general labor experience is a plus
